Aamir Khan to snatched Bollywood King Khan symbol from Shahrukh: Shahrukh Khan has, for quite a few years, been hailed as Bollywood’s numero uno and as the ‘King Khan’.
SRK was, especially, virtually unassailable during the late 90s and early 2000s when a flurry of his films flourished at the box office including the likes of ‘Dilwale Dulhaniya Le Jayenge’, ‘Kuch Kuch Hota Hai’, ‘Dil toh Pagal Hai’, ‘Mohabbatein’, ‘Devdas’ and the likes.

However, of late, SRK seems to have mellowed down a bit. His recent films like ‘Om Shanti Om’, ‘Main Hoon Na’ and ‘My Name is Khan’ have been good but not exceptional like his earlier flicks.

His production flicks like ‘Billu’ and ‘Dulha Mil Gaya’ have licked dust at the cash registers even as he chalked out cult films like ‘Chak De India’ and ‘Swades’.

However, Aamir Khan has dished out a plethora of memorable, immortal and landmark films in ‘Lagaan’, ‘Taare Zameen Par’ and ‘Peepli Live’ (all 3 being from his production factory). Besides, his dynamic and mind-boggling performance is ‘3 Idiots’, ‘Ghajini’, ‘Rang De Basanti’ and ‘Fanaa’ have made him the darling of the masses.

SRK shall make his next appearance in the highly anticipated ‘Ra. One’ and ‘Don 2’ while Aamir shall be next seen in wife Kiran’s ‘Dhobi Ghat’. Though, comparisons are often futile and debatable, it seems like it’s Aamir who is wearing the crown presently.

Earlier he was in news for extending hand of friendship to Shiv Sena by wishing Uddav Thackeray on his birthday, in a unique style. Now, it is about his friendship with his long time competitor Aamir Khan.

Aamir and Shahrukh were seen having dinner together in London, which is one of the biggest surprises ever.

All thanks to Karan Johar who recently become friends with Aamir. The master mind behind the plan for a combine dinner with both Aamir and Shahrukh was Karan. Well, chemistry has to workout when KJo's mind is at work.

Now, Aamir without missing the chance informed to the media in an interview that he is planning to invite Shahrukh Khan to the premiere of his upcoming film Peepli Live. Looks like Shahrukh is also quiet in friendship mood, hopefully he will accept the offer.

Whether their friendship lasts or not is something still to be unfold, till then wishing them happy friendship day in advance.

Bollywood perfectionist actor Aamir Khan has made it to the top in the Filmfare Power List for the consecutive third time.

Beating his close competitor superstar Shahrukh Khan, Aamir has retained his top position of last year. The last three films of Aamir, which includes 2007 hit Taare Zameen Par, Ghajini and 2009 super-hit 3 Idiots, garnered about Rs 825 crore. Aamir has managed to be on top with this huge success. His film 3 Idiots earned more than Rs 375 crore, which is the biggest hit in the history of Bollywood so far.

Shahrukh Khan has also maintained to be on the second position in the ranking for the third time. In fact, SRK had not much work in 2009 apart from a small act in Billu Barbar and a cameo in a flop film Dulha Mil Gaya. But still he managed to retain the second position. Filmmaker Rajkumar Hirani, who had done hat trick with the success of his two Munnabhai films and then 3 Idiots, has made it to the third position beating big names like Yash Chopra, Aditya Chopra, and Karan Johar.

Music maestro A. R. Rahman, who earned the country two Oscars, has taken the 4th position jumping from his 8th position in the Power list of 2008. Filmmaker Karan Johar, who had not directed any movie in 2009, has managed to reserve the 5th position in the Power list with his production house Dharma Productions, which earned accolades for making Ranbir Kapoor starrer film Wake Up Sid.


In 2008, Yash Raj Films was in the 3rd position and this year, it has moved to the 6th position. The Aamir Khan’s production house has been placed at the 7th position as it has become renowned for making quality and box office hit numbers. Another superstar Akshay Kumar is missing from this year’s power list. He was at the 7th position in the list of 2008.

Bollywood diva Kareena Kapoor has taken the 8th place but she should worry now as her closest rival Katrina Kaif has made it to the No 10 position this year. Last year, Kareena was only women in the list. Hrithik Roshan has maintained his No 9 position though he had no film apart from a cameo in Luck By Chance.

But eyebrows are now rising fast almost touching the hairline as Aamir gears up to attend Karan’s party thrown for the celebration of his success I Hate Luv Storys. Of course, the flick stars Aamir’s bhaanja (nephew) Imran but apparently, Aamir shall be the only one outside the cast & crew to be gracing the occasion.

Indiatimes reports, “Karan and Aamir were hardly acquaintances till very recently. And they have now become close friends. After Karan made his appearances at Aamir’s party for Gustavo and attended the music release of Peepli Live, things are clearer by the minute. Now Karan has invited Aamir to this party.”

aKran, reportedly, personally telephoned the Ghajini actor who has cordially accepted the invitation. Their recent closeness is germinating gossips of something fishy lurking beneath the waters. Are they working on a project or do they secretly wish to team up with each other?

Though, Karan casts Shahrukh Khan in all his mega films, it would be a pleasant change if he ropes Aamir in for one. And it would be heavenly, if he can finally do the thinkable……..if he can make Aamir and SRK work together in one single film.

It is known from sources that Karan Johar expressed profound aspiration to shoot his closest buddy Shah Rukh and his new found friend Aamir together. He said so during the music launch of ‘Peepli Live’.
Karan said, "Aamir Khan is a very good actor. I would love to do a film with Shahrukh Khan and him."

It is also reported that Aamir has no objections working with rival Shahrukh Khan. He said, "Why not? I think Karan is a very talented director. I would love to work with him. If there is a good story for me and if Karan also feels that I fit the role, I will do it."
