I wanted to be a writer and a director: Salman Khan

I wanted to be a writer and a director: Salman Khan: Had director Sooraj Bharjatya not prodded him to become an actor, Salman Khan might have been a writer and director today.
“I don't even know how acting happened. I wanted to be a writer and a director. I guess the Barjatyas liked my shakal (face), though I don't know what they saw in it,” Salman is quoted as saying by a news daily.

Salman Khan shot to fame with director Sooraj Bharjatya’s film Maine Pyar Kiya. After the film’s stupendous success, there was no looking back for Salman. He rose to the status of a superstar.

Eventually, he also wrote a script that was made into the film Veer, which, sadly, came a cropper at the box office. Following the movie’s debacle, Salman is staying away from script writing. And what about direction? Salman says he’s content being an actor presently. But he may direct a film someday.

Salman Khan's Bigg Boss 4: I am hosting it in my own style!

Salman Khan's Bigg Boss 4: I am hosting it in my own style! The reason why telly viewers loved Salman Khan so much in the game show Dus Ka Dum  last year was the actor’s unpretentious straightforwardness and his disdain for glib. This year, as he hosts the fourth season of Bigg Boss, the super star promises more frankness on his part.

“The first and only lesson I have learned in acting is to be myself. Viewers will get 100 per cent unadulterated Salman Khan in Bigg Boss. I am hosting it in my own style - frank and uncut,” Salman is quoted to have said in an interview.

Talking about the housemates, Salman said that those who try to play too clever and smart will get a short end of the stick.

“I am a very straight-forward person and I will not take any hypocrisy and politics lightly. For those housemates who play clean, they will always find their best friend in me. Those who don't, be ready to expect the worst,” he said.

Salman also added that he consulted his mom before agreeing to host the show.

Salman Khan Interview: 'only ask me about my work not Katrina'

Salman Khan Interview: 'only ask me about my work not Katrina': After being literally goaded by the media into confessing that he has indeed broken up from his longtime girlfriend Katrina Kaif, Bollywood actor Salman Khan is now saying a strict no to any questions about his ex lover.

While promoting his coming film Dabangg in Gurgaon (in Delhi’s outskirts) during the launch of IIFA Buzz Cafe, Salman refrained from answering any questions that were not related to the film.

“No personal questions please. I have just come from a long studio interview. I will only talk about the film and nothing else,” Salman made it categorically clear.

Earlier this week at a press conference at Taj Lands End in Bandra, even Katrina Kaif had made a hasty exit from a press conference after speaking on the mike for some time for fear of being barraged with questions related to Salman.

Guess the two need some space and time to let it sink in.
