Shahrukh Khan to participate in Amitabh Bachchan's KBC 4?: It will be quiet a scene if we get to see Amitabh Bachchan and Shahrukh Khan sitting front to front on the hot seat of Kaun Banega Crorepati on Sony TV.

Well, the news is that Shahrukh has been reportedly approached by KBC to be a part of the show as a celebrity contestant. Amitabh Bachchan will be seen quizzing SRK on the show if things work out properly.

The show, that is scheduled to be aired on Big B's 68th birthday on October 11, had Shahrukh as its host on the 3 season of the show. It was highly discussed that though KBC 3 was a success it could not gather lot of appreciation from the viewers like Amitabh managed to get in KBC season 1 and 2. In season 4 of the show Mr. Bachchan has been taken back as the host of the show and it is reported that Shahrukh may participate in the show as a contestant.

Putting both the host face to face on the show will give a great hype to the show and the channel. Shahrukh Khan has not responded to the offer. It will be interesting to see the the friendship between the two on the show. The relation between the two has been an on and off target for all the rumours.

The channel confirmed the news of the approach adding that they are awaiting his response.

The KBC 4 phone lines opened on Saturday for registration and received a stupendous response. Big B writes about it on Twitter, “KBC lines just opened at 9 PM IST and Sony just rang to inform me they had 1.5 lakh sms in first 5 mins. !! Phone calls 2 B compiled !!”

“OH ! Boy ! This is scary ! Need to get back and start rehearsing to deliver what these numbers indicate and expect !! KBC you sweety !” tweets Amitabh.

However, it is not only October 11 which is important. August 2, which is considered to be Big B’s 2nd birth date, as he returned from the hospital after suffering a fatal injury during the ‘Coolie’ shoot and thus got a new life, was the day when KBC 4 phone lines opened. Big B’s kids can’t forget the special day and both Shweta Nanda and Abhishek Bachchan wished their father on Twitter.

Big B is set to return on his TV voyage as his ‘Kaun Banega Crorepati’ comeback is hitting the headlines hard. Here are the reasons why is he stepping into his old boots yet again:

1. KBC has, hitherto, featured 3 seasons out of which the first two was shouldered by Amitabh. Then, to bring in a sea of change, a fresh Shahrukh Khan was handed over the mettle. However, he failed to weave the same magic as his predecessor.

2. Secondly, Mr. Bachchan, with the maiden season in early 2000s had created a frenzy that, till date, remains unmatched by leaps and bounds.

Mumbai Mirror reports, “Both, Bachchan and Shah Rukh, respectively brought their distinct individuality on the table, but frankly speaking, Shah Rukh’s histrionics did not do go down well with the audience. There was a vast difference in the TRPs between the two seasons hosted by Bachchan and the third season hosted by Shah Rukh.”

3. Another reason from Amitabh’s personal point can be safely put as the monetary lure. There is no shadow of a doubt that the producers will empty their pockets to pull in Amitabh for heightening the popularity of the game show (Indian version of ‘Who Wants to be a Millionaire’) that reached insurmountable heights during his reign but saw a steep slump during SRK’s regime.
