Salman Khan Claim to Rebutted Rs 15 crore for the film 'Veer'

Salman Khan Claim to Rebutted Rs 15 crore for the film 'Veer': Veer producer Vijay Gilani has rebutted a recent report that Salman Khan had sent him a notice over an unpaid Rs 15 crore paycheck for the film.

The report quoted Khan's secretary, Vikas Kapoor, as saying, "Yes, Vijay Galani has been sent a notice for an amount of Rs 15 crore."

HT quotes Gilani as saying, "No legal notice can be sent because there is no Rs 15 crore due to anyone. Ten crore rupees were paid to Salman Khan before the shooting started in August 2008, and 15 crore was to be paid after recovering the cost of the film."

Gilani's production company is reported to have sent a letter to Khan stating that since the film had not recovered its Rs 60 crore production cost, there was no question of paying the additional Rs 15 crore to Salman.

Apparently referring to an earlier communication from Salman's camp, the letter says, "Even though you are aware of the foregoing agreement, despite which you have made false, unfounded and baseless allegations against us."

According to Gilani, in the letter he also challenged the Salman camp to furnish evidence on which they were basing their claim for the additional paycheck. So far, there has been no response to the letter.

According to the Wikipedia, Veer grossed Rs 37 crore. It was made on a budget of Rs 50 crore.
