Katrina Kaif's Raajneeti by Prakash Jha: From glamorous Actor to starched cotton saris

Katrina Kaif News: Katrina Kaif, the sweet faced cute Barbie  doll, who has always been glamoured up in her films, has suddenly come up in this de-glamorized role, adding a mystic factor to the recently released flick ‘Rajneeti’, by Prakash Jha.
Now, whether these moves to the glamorize the most glamorous actor of bollywood was a strategic step by the director Prakash Jha, Rajneeti applied ,or was it the demand of his script is an issue, which can be debated for days at a stretch.

However, the effort that the filmmaker has put in to make the movie commercially viable is evident right from the first scene in it.

Katrina Kaif, who has been the constantly lucky star at the box office, ever since her first commercially successful flick ‘Namaste London’, with Akshay Kumar, has been a constant attraction in most of her subsequent releases.

Most producers who had cast her wanted to make the most of her popularity quotient, and many started signing films with her just to get their cash registers ringing.

Nevertheless, director Prakash Jha who is known for his penchant for more serious issues, surprised most with his choice of his female lead, especially Katrina, as her, playing a serious politician was beyond anyone’s imagination.

But, now, that the flick has crossed and broken records of ‘Houseful’ and ‘kites’, in the opening weekend, has proved that making Katrina switch, from the flowery dresses to the starched cotton sari, is indeed a very successful bait put in by the director, which the audiences bit with a mouthful!
